25A – What’s Next?
Existing Market:
The existing market is current travelers that use airlines to travel to South America and destinations nearby. This includes leisure travelers that wish to explore South America or Latin Americans that wish to visit and tour the country.
Interview #1: Female Traveler 26 years old
I believe the idea of Blankenese airlines is an overall good idea but it is also a premature business concept, more thought and planning must go on in order for it to make it work. I believe that you can create a loyal customer base as there clearly is a lot of unsatisfied people now.
Interview #2: Male Traveler 31 years old
I like the idea but I have a hard time imagining that the concept will work in the long term. Also, I see that the huge upfront cost of investment is so large that might be an issue when trying to get people behind this business idea and invest in it.
Interview #3: Male Traveler 55 years old
The airline industry is extremely difficult and predatory. I would have to see more research and more information if I see a tangible opportunity for Blankenese Airlines. But I do agree that there is an unsatisfied portion of the population and that is always something you can exploit on.
Reflection: I see that all the interviewees have strong points. I must look more into the details if the company would be successful or not first.
New Market:
I see that the new market could be the possible mergers in the long run for the company, there are many small airlines that could help us tremendously to start building a strong network and partnerships along and creating safe competition.
Interview #1: Male Student 20 years old
I see how you can eventually lead to mergers and acquisitions after you have already started the company I believe that this will be the pinnacle of the story of Blankenese if it actually ends up being successful.
Interview #2: Female Professional 42 years old
I think that when a company starts acquiring new things it means that the company is performing tremendously and the numbers are incredible. Thus, if you can do it and people suggest acquiring business it might be beneficial for the airline.
Interview #3: Male Professional 62 years old
A company must focus more on their own at the beginning, I see that some companies that try to grow too fast end up failing because somewhere along the line, the business fails or it does not perform as people would like and creates a lot of discontent people.
Reflection: the idea of mergers and acquisitons it was just a random idea for this example, I obviously don't think that far ahead but it would be interesting to see it work out in the future.

ReplyDeleteHi Mario,
ReplyDeleteThe layout of this post makes it a great read. I really like how diverse your interviews were on both the current market and on the new market. I like how far ahead you are thinking even if it is just for fun. Hopefully, if you are passionate about this idea, you can have it take off. Good luck!
Hey Mario,
ReplyDeleteI like how this blog post was an easy read because you said what you needed to say but you kept it concise. You paraphrased the most important quotes you got from your interviewees. I also like the fact that you added ages because maturity levels are important things to consider. Additionally, you mentioned that you know you could use more details to get your product perfect.
